This project first began in March 2025 as I listened – once again – to the news regarding the latest bombings, accusations and criticisms of foreign countries, government programs/employees, elected officials, and more – and I thought
There seems to be so much hate and anger and fear in this world and so much of it seems to be directed at one-another.
And I thought,
What – in heavens name could I possibly do?
I have sung in a choir for many years and love music, in part because it speaks to feelings I hold most precious – love, compassion, empathy, joy and much more. I thought,
Everyone treasures those feelings – everyone – and when we sing about them, we are sharing with one another.
From there, an idea began. What if members of my and other choirs, went to a public place such as a mall and became a “Flash Mob.” There we would sang a few songs regarding peace, such as “Nothing But Peace Is Enough,” or “You Gotta Put One Foot In Front of the Other and Lead With Love.” Maybe – maybe it would remind us all that we have so much more in common than we realize and why don’t we talk about our common values, dreams and fears and learn from one-another.
